Yegathuva Muslim Jamath express disappointment on the verdict of Pehlu Khan mob lynching case and warns that people lose faith on democracy

On 1st April 2017, Pehlu Khan was attacked by cow vigilantes and died.

Video of mob lynching went viral and turned a nationwide protest seeking justice for the victim. The video was considered as an evidence by police to arrest six accused involved in the attacks.

Alwar District court’s Additional district and sessions judge Sarita Swami pronounced the judgment yesterday (14-08-2019) in which the court has acquitted all the accused and said the cellphone video of the attack was not clear enough to establish the presence of the accused.

Despite there being a dying declaration, eyewitnesses and videos where the accused could be seen hitting the victim , the accused are acquitted by the Court which Yegathuva Muslim Jamath considers this judgement as a unjust to the victim and warns that people will lose faith on judicial system and democracy.

As attacks against Minorities and Dalits has increased exponentially in current BJP led government, such judgement will add more power to cow vigilantes which will not be a good sign for the diversity and integrity of India.
This will defame India in world arena.
